Last May 4th 2010, Michel Mercier, Minister of Rural Space and Town & Country Planning announced the list of company networks or clusters selected for the 1st call for proposals ‘Grappe d’entreprises’ 2010 : a new lease of life to the economic development of our territories. Valérie Tellier, President of ‘La Glass Vallée’, was given by the Minister himself and in front of more than 2,000 people this highly-coveted prize.
For this 1st call for proposals, exemplary clusters of companies were selected. Out of 112 sent-in files, 42 were accepted after a rigorous selection, including the ‘Glass Vallée’ one by way of clusters with a strong territorial foothold on territories at stake.
Ten years after its labellization as a SPL (Système Productif Local = Local Productive System), ‘La Glass Vallée’ pictured itself again rewarded. The next investor round with territorial authorities, the Deposit Office, OSEO and Public services, will allow to define the resulting financial backing of this new distinction, which is a strong signal of hope for the glass industry and its territory.
