The ‘Pre mières Assises de la RFID’ (= first RFID conference) called ‘RFID into action’ were held last May 10th 2010 at the Conference Centre Pierre Mendes France, Ministry of Economy, Industry and Employment, in Paris.
France is the 6th country in the world for RFID grant applicants. Some of them are leaders in this business unit. France has financed many innovation or R&D projects. Besides the CNRFID, the French reference national centre, took part in this event and allowed participants to exchange evolutions of the RFID market.
Aware of these stakes, the European Commission conducted several policies. A recommendation was even released in May 2009.
The objective of this event was to favour a balanced development of this technology. The participants found out successful introductions of RFID in companies, together with their benefits. Debates were held about themes such as systems interoperability, data safety, normalization, R&D prospects and economic intelligence.
The MAUD cluster took part in this first RFID conference. Players from the DECARTE (DEveloppement de CARTon Electronique = Development of Electronic Cardboard) project (approved by the MAUD cluster) were also present.
