The Institute of Molecules and Condensed Matter in Lille, or Michel-Eugène Chevreul Institute, is a research federation approved by the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) within two regulating bodies : the USTL (Université des Sciences et Technologies de Lille) and the ENSCL (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Lille). The goal is to assert a pole « Chemistry & Materials » in the Nord-Pas de Calais region, in partnership with the « Ecole des Mines » in Douai and the « Laboratoire des Matériaux & Procédés » in Maubeuge.
Its missions : to coordinate the development & operation of shared technical wherewithal and to promote interdisciplinary projects between partners laboratories in order to implicate researchers in actions with strong potential, industrial repercussions.

Created in the OISE département in 1897, the glass factory in Feuquières became the Saverglass group, specialized in the de luxe glass bottle and its decoration on top-of-the-range glassware.
Present worldwide (40 % of its output on exports), Saverglass development is guided by design & innovation : to differentiate itself from competitors, to offer original creations to its customers, to improve its production processes and finally to go on integrating a strong environmental dimension. These are as many stakes for the group and its new manufacturing unit called « Alphaglass » located in Arques.
