Last May 4th 2010, Michel Mercier, Minister of Rural Space and Town & Country Planning announced the list of company networks or clusters selected for the 1st call for proposals ‘Grappe d’entreprises’ 2010 : a new lease of life to the economic development of our territories.

The development of the scientific cluster Chemistry-Materials presents major stakes for the ‘Campus Grand Lille’ project – the renovation project of universities in Lille (North of France), announced by the Minister Valérie Pécresse last 15th September 2009. At first its goal is to reinforce the international profile of a multidisciplinary cluster which falls within the heart of great national & European priorities

NEW ! The complete title of the InterSpore project is precisely : “the modelization of dynamics of interactions Bacillus spores/Material and the role of spore surface complexity. Application at L. monocytogenes, non-sporulated pathogenic”. That could seem obscure and particular for the non-initiated, but in fact applications of this work will have sizeable industrial impacts.

CHEVREUL Institute, laboratories in the service of industry...
The Institute of Molecules and Condensed Matter in Lille, or Michel-Eugène Chevreul Institute, is a research federation approved by the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) within two regulating bodies : the USTL (Université des Sciences et Technologies de Lille) and the ENSCL (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Lille). The goal is to assert a pole « Chemistry & Materials » in the Nord-Pas de Calais region, in partnership with the « Ecole des Mines » in Douai and the « Laboratoire des Matériaux & Procédés » in Maubeuge.
Its missions : to coordinate the development & operation of shared technical wherewithal and to promote interdisciplinary projects between partners laboratories in order to implicate researchers in actions with strong potential, industrial repercussions.
